The Internet: Past, Present and Future
With the rapid development of economy, advanced science and technology, the fact that the worldwide usage of computer is an inevitable result of social development as well as the remarkable growth of people’s living standard. This gives the opportunity to the Internet. Internet is convenient and efficient in all aspects of human life and also a symbol of society progress.
Advancement in the internet leads to services integrating between real world and cyber world in daily life, like internet banking, voip, etc. To begin with, the services that are in real world, but also present in the internet in my eyes would be shopping. Shopping is a kind of service that you can do both in real world and cyber world, which the biggest difference is that when buying goods in real world you can touch it, such as you can try on the clothes you are keen on, you can tell how the feeling is the goods like. While in cyber world you could only charge the goods by its image or short video. For the shopping in real world, you can have the goods immediately after you pay it, and you don’t have to worry about the payment of the delivery, what’s more some people are cheating in cyber world. The only advantage for shopping in cyber world is that it saves time, which explains the reason why Internet are such worldwide used—“Time Is Money”. On the other hand, what they have in common seems to be like the destination is buying the goods they want. In addition, people can work both in real world or cyber world. Many office workers choose to finish their work at home by using Internet. This saves their time on the crowded way to company, working at home brings the workers a better situation so that they can work more actively, ect.
Nowadays, we gradually move into an age called information age, in this age we can see how crucial information is. From my point of view, I’d courageously make a prediction; Internet will be more efficient and comprehensive to search information all around the world.

To sum up, internet does bring us so many interesting things and I’m so glad to have the chance to get close a little bit to it, and I hope, no matter how well it develops one day, I, we will not get addicted to it.
Then, I want to describe my favorite application.
For me, in the present time, what I think the mostly useful for me is the browser. Without it, all of my net world will be dark. If I open my PC, only to find there is no available browser for me to use I must be crazy. It’s hard to imagine that people cannot surf the line or check their mailboxes. And in the future, what I’m looking forward to is application software of programming. I like playing games, all kinds of, but I prefer creating games rather than playing. So I hope that someone can invent a kind of software which ordinary people could easily create some games by themselves just by putting some basic program language into the software and adding some remarks. Then the learner could create a game on his own. To be honest, it’s just my imagination and it’s hard to realize, anyway, it is just my hope through my childhood. As the proverb goes: “Though hope is frail, it’s hard to kill.” Let me keep dreaming.
All in all, undeniably, Internet plays an increasingly important role in our daily life. Most people agree that the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. But we still have a long way to go.(1026)
